Back to London
We have been blessed with beautiful weather the past five days or so in London. This might be the only sunshine we see for a while, so we made the most of it and spent a lot of the weekend outside.
On friday night we tried Pivaz for dinner, mostly because they have a lovely outside area that spills on to the street. I enjoyed sipping on my aperol spritz but the food wasn't amazing; my roasted aubergine was pretty oily & lacked flavour.
We probably won't eat there again, but it's a good option for alfresco drinks when the sun shines. We ended our evening with a walk along the canal, where we spotted lots of friendly canal boat kitties and of course I stopped to pet every single one...
On Saturday we walked over to Stoke Newington & had a picnic in the park from Wholefoods. I chose the Abundance box from Pollen & Grace which is all vegan & very delicious.
We lay around drinking rosé whilst people watching and dog spotting. Eventually we made our way home & cooked a spicy chilli for dinner and began season 3 of Outlander. I'm seriously addicted to the beautiful Scottish landscape in this series :)
Sunday started with a run along the river in the glorious sunshine before tucking into a vegan roast at The Roebuck. (They also have a no plastic straws policy which I was very happy to see :). We were there to celebrate my older brother's birthday; I gifted him the Atlas Obscura book for his birthday that I secretly wanted to keep for myself... buying beautiful books is such a pleasure in these kindle-reading days.
London is in bloom at the moment and I can't resist stopping to capture the beauty all the time. I'm so happy we chose to come back at this time of year when the city really starts coming to life.
I'm Currently reading:
I've got two books on the go at the moment; One I'm dipping in and out of- Botanical folk tales of Britain & Ireland & I'll Be Gone In The Dark; a thriller based on the true story on the Golden State Killer - an elusive serial rapist turned murderer who terrorised California for over a decade. This one will keep you awake at night....
The most recent Cereal magazine is also on my reading list. The current issue is all about sustainability, a great read if you're interested in sustainable architecture, hotels & more.
I'm Currently Listening to;
My favourite podcast of the moment is Talking Tastebuds by Venetia Falconer. I love learning more about food & health and she has some really interesting guests and conversations on the show. Check it out if you're interested in all things food & healthy living.
I'm currently Watching:
Outlander season 3. I forgot how intense & addictive Outlander is! After one episode of season 3 I was already welling up (yes, I'm overly sensitive) and wondering how the Jamie/Claire saga is going to play out over season 3.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend & a great week ahead.
